Was watching the game yesterday , here in Brasil on ESPN , thundered a fantastic volley - straight onto the crossbar , it then basically hit Lampard , goal ... Will it ever go right for him ? Ran the line superb yesterday , but was totally on his own . Know he's the brunt of many a good joke , but he doesn't lack effort .
funny thing was , as he volleyed it , he was facing the other way as he landed , ball was in before he turned round , so for a second I reckon he thought he'd bagged ' goal of the season ' -
Torres is a great striker, having a poor run at Chelsea Steve. Personally think AVB needs to get rid of Drogba and make Torres his No 1 striker before you will see the best of him. Once Torres feels like he is loved by Chelsea and the fans, gets his confidence back you will begin to see the Torres that terrorised other PL defences. When he was on his game best all round striker in England IMO.

thing is Davie , fans do love him , chant his name , he gets a lot of support - usually booed if he's taken off .. I think Sturridge / Torres would be a great partnership , we played at home yesterday with 5 in midfield , ok Sunderland are a big improvement since O'Neil arrived , but it should be more attacking format ..
Just think Torres was worshipped by the scousers and still got to earn the same respect from you Chelsea fans. Still get the impression Drogba is the main man in dressing room. If he doesn't get his way he silks big time, by the way think he is a great striker as well. Wished Wenger had signed him, he's terrorised the Arsenal defence over the years. Torres and Drogba just can't seem to play together.

Torres should never have left Liverpool he & Suarez would have terrorized the PL defenders ,i would love to have him back but hes made his bed & now has to lie in it.
Torres is world class. I was at Old Trafford for the Chelsea game last year (3-1), Torres played pretty well, scored a decent goal at the start of the secod half - then did brilliantly to round De Gay, did everything right and then made probably miss of the season. If he had scored that goal, everyone would have said "Torres is back". He has had a pretty rough time, clearly lacking in a bit of confidence, but he will do the business for Chelsea.

AVB's tactics are very, very questionable at times. I went to the 1-1 draw at the DW last month, AVB took off Sturridge and Mata who were by far the biggest threat at the time. Then they seemed to be playing to defend the 1-0 lead they had and ultimately it came back to bite them, and it could have been worse. With all due respect to Wigan, Chelsea should be be absolutely smashing them, but they had one shot on target that game iirc.
I was a bit puzzled by his tactics yesterday , but think he has a lot to learn in the Premier League , it will take time , and hope he gets it .. an ageing squad needs a shuffle & a shake , fresh faces in , need more creativity in midfield , we seem to get to the middle of the pitch and everything goes sideways or back ...
Lets not forget that Torres had a shite 6 months or so at Liverpool before he joind Chelsea. I've never seen a player go from being a world-beater to someone who looks like he hardly knows how to kick a ball in such a short space of time. He must come good again though (by 'coming good' I mean banging in 25 a season) because someone with that amount of abilty can't not be a top performer. Can he?
not sure though Chelsea are helping him too well right now though , Mata seems to be the only creative player , and even he seems deeper in midfield , I'm sure Torres will come good , he hit 2 in the Champions Leaque qualifier , then shortly after got sent off against Swansea , but has been bit part player since .. the ability is there , the confidence apparently isn't ..

Can't see him ever scoring again tbh, pundits were saying get rid of Drogba and he'll come good, no excuses today. Thought Holt had a good game for Norwich.

To be fair, that little outside of the foot effort was a touch of class from Torres and it was a top save.

as a red who watched him week in week out hes world class unstoppable when on form its a classic tale of an agent givin him bad advice they were desperate to get him the world cup and that injury has set him back a couple of years he will come good tho
