Was there one time. Reeperbahn............. You must see that A house with a lot of hookers for the doors! ( don't remember the name of the house ) They can pick you up on the corridors.....Haha! Bars at Reeperbahn are very expensive, but a good atmosphere aswell.

You must have been in the wrong bars, man
I've been there several times and really like Hamburg. It's a great city! There are a few places (mainly directly on the Reeperbahn) where you can pay silly money and get screwed. But there are loads of good pubs and bars in the surrounding areas and the streets nearby which are great and you can even have a cheap booze there. Depends on what you want, you've got a good choice there ...

Just never been in Hamburg, but I've heard some stories about the city from German people/friends. You have some great bars/clubs, like 20up were you have a very nice view
of the city & tasty cocktails (but a little bit expensive), Atlantic Bar and Hamburg Bar just next to the famous red light district of Hamburg .
But my experience of Germany, is that you must take also the local bars, get wasted and go to an exclusive area or something, 'cause around the clock of midnight it's gonna be nice!
