Rangers may well go into administration, but liquidation? I very much doubt it. For that to happen the clubs assets would have to be worth more to the creditors than the club as a going concern. Once you've sold all the players, which they could do in administration anyway, what's left apart from the ground? As to the ground, I don't know whether there's any sort of covenant preventing it being used for housing or a supermarket, but I can't see the local planning authorities allowing it anyway.
Rangers, just like Leeds United, is worth far too much as a going concern to go into liquidation.
Quote by theherdi've been to see motherwell loads of times when i was younger allways had a great time but that was the mid 80's ,but with out rangers scottish football won't last two years
You honestly believe that if Rangers did dissolve tommorow, so too would Scottish football within two years?
possibly not two years but i think it would be a major disaster.sponsorship would dry up and tv money from sky etc would certainly not be put into our game.like them or loathe them the old firm are the major attraction north of the border. without them clubs like hearts, kilmarnock and aberdeen would soon follow suit.
Quote by courtspeaking to a lot of celtic fans yesterday i feel that they should be careful what they wish for.if rangers go belly up it will certainly imo have an adverse effect on celtic.scottish football will become a whole lolt less appealing to sponsors, investors etc and the paltry sums currently put in to the scottish game will become non existent. the scottish game is currently teetering on the edge of a very black hole.its not just rangers.clubs such as kilmarnock and hearts are on the brink with the only club on a sound financial footing being st mirren.dark days indeed ahead
ive said this before but celtic fans think they,ll survive in a one team league. i,ll put money on the spl ends up like the welsh/irish leagues within 5 yr if either old firm were to go out of business., said it before i,ll say it again, sky, espn etc wont be interested in putting money in, any decent player wont even entertain the spl, so keep wishing celtic fans.

There's enough of a risk for the SPL office bearers to be meeting to discuss how that scenario would be handled. Neil Doncaster (SPL Chief Exec) has confirmed as much. There will always be a Rangers all right, but it might be in the form of a newco with no historical claim to the honours of the present club, making its way through the league from the bottom division.
If the teddy bears were to go bust I'd hope a few might try out their local team, might reinvigorate a few clubs on their arses all over Scotland.
Spot on, too many up there don't support their local team.
Not knocking Glasgow Celtic/Rangers fans from Glasgow, they must hate the cling ons as much as anyone.
Why would I hate rangers fans who don't come from Glasgow? I have good friends who from as far away as Inverness who travel to see rangers week in week out. Anyone who goes to support their team every week is to be applauded no matter where they are from

Yes but why do they support Glasgow Celtic/Rangers and not their nearest team? Because they know that they can get instant success, win something most years, and boast and bore their workmates to death. They may also get a visceral thrill from joining in sectarian chants.,
^ Far too many glory-hunting cunts in Scotland. Usually when I see an Old Firm shirt in Aberdeen (not advisable) it is sported by a junkie looking cunt without a single moral fibre in his whole rotten body. Usually got some pathetic excuse like "Oh my Da was from Glasgow..." When in reality they probably don't know who their Father is.
I would hate to see Rangers go to the wall as much as I'd hate to see any club go to wall. For me when you support a football club be it Rangers or Darlington it becomes part of your make up, identity, your life. Sometimes I hate Chelsea as much as I love them but I'd be fucking lost without them.
Rangers are an institution, and football clubs mean that bit more than other institutions already mentioned like Woolworths. It won't be easy but they'll pull through.
I will add that football is such a poorly run industry and it never ever learns from its mistakes.

Could not give a flyin fuck either way what happens to the cunts but I have to laugh at the amount of Berrs that are blaming Sir David of Murray, absolutely fuckin hillarious...
They lapped it up during 9 in a row, and the years after that when Advocaat and the like were in charge spending absolute fortunes on reprobates like Tore Andre Flo, haha!
Always love when Celtic fans bring up Flo, yes we paid 12 million for him but we sold him for almost 7 million for a player who scored in over half of the games he played ok we took a loss of just over 5 million but Celtic seem to forget they have signed some stinkers in their time.
Scheidt cost £5m and was far worse than Flo was and I am sure he didn't even play a total of 10 games for Celtic and then was loaned out and just released.

Celtic didn't parade Scheidt as a big marquee signing. You can not compare a £5m transfer to £12m for Flo. Flo was a similar signing to Sutton.
