Just saw this amazing documentary narrated by joe simpson (some might know him as the author of the book "touching the void")

In this movie he reconstructs the drama of the 1936 Eiger North Face summit attempt by Toni Kurz, Andreas Hinterstoißer, Willy Angerer and Eduard Reiner.

A really amazing documentary, mixing reconstructed scenes of the 1936 summit team and simpsons own climbing on the north face.

Big fan of Joe Simpson's stuff. Met him at the Ilkley book festival last year. He's definitely got something of an 'edge' to him (many in the climbing world think he's a cock) but I thought he was good value. Seemed to have plenty of time to speak to us all, and was very articulate and thoughtful.

very interested in this stuff, just read "the second death of george mallory" by reinhold messner, many interesting books and movies out there, for people who doesnt dare to climb a mountain like me
