My back went on tuesday, can't even bend down to do my shoelaces it's that bad. Not unsure what to do about it, whether to go to A&E to get some strong painkillers, or go osteopathists.
Anything that you reckon would help, even if its some exercises to do would be much appreciated.
had plenty of back issues over the years...comes with the job! hot baths wheat bags (you bang em in microwave and place on the area of pain)...these are good in my experiance....cant remember where i got mine.....hot water bottle should do a similar job anti inflamatories (nurofen do an extra strong one thats not bad) you can take paracetamol in between dosses of AI's (ask your chemist) get to the doctors asap.....he/she will probably prescribe you some diclofenac ....if these dont work your probably going to die!

I had Diclofenac for my Hamstring problem a few month ago, personally thought they were shit, even when oversdosed.
Get some velcro trainers or some nice slip ons for footwear if you're having trouble with laces, here to help
Had back problems years ago but not been bad last few years, heard you shouldn't rest as much as you used to and avoid the support belts, they don't help apparently.

Quote by Harold ShandGet an emergency appointment with your GP. He'll probably send you for MRI scan and give you some tramadol.
Then eventually you'll get to see a spinal/bone specialist doctor. I've got my appointment tomorrow after waiting 5 and a half months.
If you just take pain killers it will mask/relieve the problem, but it won't address it.
Agree with this, need an mri scan before you go to physio's, chiroprators etc IMO Start with lying on your front and wrap an hot water bottle in a towel and place on the area thats hurting. Keep it on for 10 - 15mins then if you can lye on your back with your arse against a chair on the floor and place your legs on the chair where people sit(if that makes sence!)# The only thing that worked for me was an operation, a memory foam mattress, physio and sports massages twice a month even still ongoing now after 2 years of having the op! Oh and diazapan works for me when pain is too bad. I feel your pain Donny,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,good luck pal
Live life to the full and enjoy, try and help people who havn't got as much as you, you never know what tomorrow will bring!!!!
Electric blanket, it's far from a cure but a realy easy way to help instead of messing around with hot water bottles n the like. I don't take pain killers, your body sends them messages for a reason, but you do need to keep moving if not alot just to free it up. Get to the quacks asap to find out what's goin in. You wanna be hoping you haven't got siatica.
Definitely go to the doctor's so you have an idea of what the exact problem is. Don't want to make it worse by assuming it's no big deal and let yourself in for bigger problems down the road.
Once you're back to normal, some light exercise focusing on your core muscle groups along with a stretching regimen should help prevent something like this from happening in the future.
The best way to cure sciatica for me no joke was walking the dog for half an hour after work 3-4 nights a week. Hurts at first but proper sorts it out (:
Get an appointment mate with the docs asap Suffered with my back for years, got really bad 18 months ago, turns out i had bulging discs, offered the cortisone injection first which i had, lasted about 2 days before the pain came back. Ended up having an op,its a bit better but not solved the problem. Know what you are going through with the pain.
I go to a private chiropractor. She gave me a load of exercises and advice about posture etc and I've been great since. Still get a massage every other month but generally right as rain. She advised me to keep active.
