Been meaning to get something to play my 45's on for a while,not after anything too fancy,whats good and whats not? Like i say don't want to spend loads but needs to last.

Dont neccessarily agree 1210 is the way forward, Only for playing some 45's on then look for clairity and good construction, 1210'2 standard for mixing and robust with direct drive table but is the really required for playing your favourite 45's on?????, Its not like your going to be scratching and cueing or rewiiiiinnnnnnds I would look at something nice and smart, cant go wrong with usual B&O and concentrate on a good cartridge and needle. For Djing yes Technics is up there but personally I would look at something which is well renowned for home entertainment and would get great pleasure sourcing and researching this. Let us know what you find if do go againest the grain shall we say.
Or if really basic, then Pro-Ject entry level systems are fine. I've had mine 5 years now, no problems, original cartridge (although not heavily used, just weekends).
