As it says above how much would you be willing to pay to see your team?
Looking less and less likely that I'll be able to get a Scottish Cup Final ticket so giving some thought to going up anyway and getting one from a tout. A couple of sites have them for around the £160 mark at the moment which doesn't seem too bad. A friend of mine paid in excess of £400 to see City in the FA Cup Final last year. I love going to watch Hibs but I think I'd have to draw the line before that, I'd potentially go up to £250ish though
I got me and my lad tickets at Anfield in CL , at half-time got talking to some lads at the bar , one said he paid £1500 !!!!!!!! if buying off a tout , wait till 10-15 minutes before game begins , you'll get a ticket at a better price ..
Yeah that's not a bad idea, still hoping I'll be able to get one through a mate or something before the game. As an aside do you reckon it was worth £300 for the England game?
depending on the circumstances of course, but being a student, and having taken slightly less interest in the football of late/premier league in general id be hard pushed to spend anything over 30 quid . refuse to pay 40/50 for newcastle/man u/chelsea etc although there are ways and means. rather stay in the pub.
cup etc id pay a fair whack, but i dont think i would ever have to.
reached for the secret too soon, cried for the moon.

It was IMO,wanted to go to the game, didn't see any point being out there and not going the match, Decent game ,Joe Cole scored a first class goal ,and Owen got crocked , Sat with a load of swedes had a great crack with, ended up going out in cologne with after the match.

I was there, paid a bit more for my ticket! Think it was £350-odd and was worth every penny. Was when I was living the bachelor life though. Had a great view of the Joe Cole goal, will stay with me for life, as will the Cologne nightlife

Liechtenstein away think i paid £300, but got ticket before the game from an agent. ground only holds about 3.000 so very hard to get tickets. only England game ive paid much more than face for a ticket, never paid more than face for a Rams game
had qualms about paying £18.50 to watch walsall the other week, fucking rip off, not going for another 2 years now.....Unless its a decent cup game.
Dont get me wrong though i love watching football at the game itself, nothing beats it, I would happily pay £18 to get into somewhere like dagenham away, but not a home game, no chance.
I know Hibs boys that are buying season tickets to increase their chances Sauzee. Bit of a waste since they'll get pumped anyway.
Depends on my situation at the time but if Celtic got to a european final again I would pay up to around £300 for the ticket. Being in the stadium is only one part of the whole experience I suppose.
Most I have and ever will pay was 40 quid away at Ibrokes... Charged 42.50 this year and I turned numerous tickets down. Won't be going again as, for the kind of football we see up here it is simply not worth that kind of money... Go to the boozer and watch it lads who done the same thing
Not that it makes much difference as ye will still fill the away stand, more a point of principle than anything else... I've been to every Celtic game there for the past 7 years aswell
I spent 4 figures to to go to the Champions League final in Paris in 2006, that was a package from a local travel agent in Dublin (tout) for travel + accomodation + match ticket. All on the credit card.
Cunt didn't even have match tickets, only produced them about an hour before the game at which point he was getting various threats regarding his future health. He had basically flown about 300 blokes from Dublin with no tickets claiming he had been let down. No tickets at Dublin Airport, no tickets at Orly, no tickets at the hotel etc.
I figured it could be the only time we would possibly get there.
With 20 minutes to go it seemed to be money well spent then we fucked it up.
Went to Germany in 2006 for World Cup QF against Portugal after not going to England games for a few years ended up paying £300 just before kick off. Had vowed not to pay silly money but once you're there you really want to be in that ground.
Definately pays to bide your time though, was at Wembley for England v Scotland in about 88ish (?) and the touts could barely give them away. I think the phrase is Schadenfreude
Ultimately , you've got to be in that ground Sauzee how are you going to feel during the game otherwise ? Just about picking the right time
I wouldn't pay £50 to watch a premier game and that's coming close now, I have lost interest in football unfortunately as it just doesn't hold anything for me anymore, I still go out for the big games and random ones and I usually still do any cup games. A cup final ticket for Albion I'd pay up to anything really, because you can't put a price on it. Travelling away with England I've paid silly prices, I paid £200 to sit in the Switzerland end against England in Portugal, then 10 mins later a few boys I was with come in as they taxed his tickets, and that £200 grieved me then. Thing is when your away you pay it because what's the point of going to a euro/worldcup to sit in a pub. I think you should just pay Jack and enjoy the day.
never paid above face. for a final id probably go to £200 but it's never come to that yet. in league terms i dont go much now - 10 years ago i drew the line at £41 for chelsea away. took me £41 to the pub and had a high old time. the match finished 0-0 i think

If I lived in Scotland that's what I'd do. If it was two per season ticket holder I'd be fine but the lads I go with are a mix of season tickets for this year and next so no chance of using one of theirs to get tickets. As for getting beaten you may well be right, should be a great spectacle though and not something I'd want to miss.
Some interesting responses lads as ever. Going to book my train when I get back to the UK and see how it goes on the day. In the mean time I'll be scouring the web in the hope one comes up on ebay!
