Just goes to show what a freak of nature Sir Alex is. Pep seems to be struggling with a bit of competition against his all-conquering team containing the best players in the world and yet the man from Govan in the same situation just accepts the challenge and rolls his sleeves up. Time and time again. Different breed

Just goes to show how much more pressure there is managing the biggest club in the world

Guardiola was only ever on a short term contract so it is feasible that this was always on the agenda. The fact he has acted after a relatively shit week for the club perhaps does not reflect well on him but I think it is unfair to suggest his actions are purely on the basis of a bit of competition.
Heard a rumour a couple weeks ago that Peps was going to take a 12 month break and manage United when Fergie retires next season... i thought it was shyte when i first read it but....
think more that Pep is proven , ok we may / may not win CL , but we were already in next stage , we are way off the pace at the top , and it wasn't great football that got us to the final ...
Quote by Nealio678Dunno if Pep is actually a decent manager... He was basically left the worlds best team at Barca.
Hardly, he was left with an ageing squad with overpaid, lazy, primadonas like Etoo and Ronaldinho. He completely revolutionised the way people view football over the last few years. The high pressing, the passing, proving that you don't need big athletic players to be successful.
To even question whether he is a decent manager is ridiculous. Look at the amount of managers who have failed at clubs like Chelsea, Madrid, Man City with practically limitless funds.. Having good players is far from a guarantee of success.
its one thing to be a barca legend in charge of the best barca team ever when you haven't had to buy many players but have had plenty coming from the barca academy and plenty of lifelong barca people around you helping run the club. Its something else to be given hundred of millions to spend and being told 'go win me the league.'
