Good luck to them, just heard that some of the Chelsea cup final tickets have gone on general sale, that was on Twitter so probably a load of rubbish before somebody bites my head off!
Good luck to them indeed. They will have this built and in use before we even get a shovel in the ground... and we've been trying to do that for over a decade! Thanks David Moores!
Quote by DempseyDo you think they could fill the ground if they can't even sell cup final tickets
to start with maybe yes , but remember , in London there are so many teams , but with success comes greater support ... Man City dont fill theirs each week .. 40-50 thousand is tops for the support Chelsea have .. but times have changed so much over the years , and football now attracts the reverse of what it did in my day , back early 80's ..
New stadium means you get bigger crowds. Cardiff were averaging 11,000 at Ninian Park but now average 20,000+. Obviously 4 Wembley appearances have helped in that time but we would never be getting the women and kids if we were still at Parc Ninian.
Haven't got lookin at the detail but assuming the club are going on their previous committement, then any new ground would be within 7 miles of sb. Until 2021 that is...iirc. I'll be sad to leave sb. Big part of my life going there, some fantastic memories, great times (and bad ones) but the move is inevitable. And this battersea has promise if done right...which isn't a given seeing how the club dealt with us back in October for the last vote. And the reality is that even if Roman goes, its likely another billionaire would come in. All of which means the fanbase will grow and grow although not perhaps with the kind of fans we would align ourselves with but we all know those days are gone now particularly in the top flight and top 4 especially.

Quote by frank cannonwhat would they do with SB ..not been since the early 80,s but aint there a hotel development at one end of the ground
probably 1/4 of a billion worth of land. it'll fund the new stadium mostly.

Quote by TONY HIBBERTFuck the inevitable. I'm glad I am not a Chelsea supporter as I would be livid.
I'm far from happy mate believe me but the reason I said inevitable is that if the Ruskie gets pissed off with the Pitchowners refusing to budge then he could move to only spending what the stadium generates (43k) in which case we'll start to be unable to compete with the other top 4...and an element of our support will cry the place down as they'll only have been used to the success.
Generally, I'd hate to move and I think some of us are sceptical that the club has really exhausted all angles at redeveloping SB. But even assuming that they have, they could give certain caveats to the new ground which would make it more bearable....such as transferring the Pitch Owners ownership to Battersea. - thereby guaranteeing that if the KGB decide to let Roman sleep with the fishes for some reason, then another Abramovich relative can't decide to turn SB into a shopping mall. Unfortunately, last time out the club displayed all the trustworthyness of a pikey tarmacking your driveway. "trust Roman" was the cry...but yet they failed to mention they had already identified locations, had secretly bought up Pitch Owner Shares to swing the vote, etc..etc...In fairness, the main view is that we don't distrust Roman as such. We distrust who'll come after him.... and it's all very well wanting to compete at the top but asking the owner to continually put 100mill of his own money in and yet not play ball with him when he wants to rectify a weak spot in our Revenue generation.

people laughed when they built a block of 70mill a pop flats opposite hyde park but they all seem to have shifted. If you can can find a property developer who buys into that idea it shouldnt be a problem to part ex the bridge for a new stadium
