Am absolutely ruined this mornin. Blinding day with 30 of us on the beer. Even the pool fans laughed when we were singing 'there's only one Andy Carroll' when he was about to come on that nearly backfired though... PLeasant surprise as I thought we'd lose. CEchs save was unreal. He's been superb the last 3 months. Old guard came up trumphs again. Speering was a weird start for me. Thought pool never turned up first half. Really poor. Different when Carroll came on though and we hung on. NExt up Munich.

Speering, bellamy and henderon were woeful for most of the game, allowed Chelsea to dictate the pattern of play. Bizarre to see Lpool fans giving Carroll plaudits despite hammering him all season - maybe the long ball game isn't so bad when it becomes clear how dreadful your midfield is! Didier Drogba was excellent too. I know he takes some flak for diving etc but on his day he's the best striker in PL outwit Rooney IMO.
Aye, there's no doubt that drogba is still top order on his day. And he's a big game player too. What's impressed me with De matteo aside from how tactically astute he's been is how he's managed to blend people like Bosingwa and kaloo into the team for games and get a decent return from them. These were players who I could barely watch the game because they annoyed the Fuck outta me. THey'll never be world beaters but they are doing a turn at present when needed. As for pool, what's the expectation for next season? Top 4 looks a big ask on yday performance.

Taking nothing away from Chelsea, thoroughly deserved the win but Liverpool were never in it till Carrol came on. Had a discussion about Liverpool this afternoon in the boozer. When we were kids Liverpool could do no wrong, the humour and the football was a joy to behold, most folk were closet 'pool fans. Nowadays their humour has been replaced by a somewhat blinkered arrogance. The booing of the anthem was distasteful and sad. How much longer are you 'pool fan's gonna get behind 'King Kenny' he's dragging you down, take of the blinkers and move into the 21st century, your not the club you'd like to think you are, or is that were.
Sorry Chelsea lad's didn't mean to piss on your parade, just needed to get that off my chest, i'm going for a lie down now!
went yesterday dissappointing result for us fort chelsea were the better side till Andy Carroll came on and yes i rate Carroll as ive defended him before ! Over the goal over the line was it wasnt it cant complain about it really was the luis garcia goal over the line a few years ago things happen! Time for my club to have a look at itself and see if Kennys the man am nt sure he is but i dont know who id want
hope King Kenny stays , no closet 'pool fan here .. was sick of the sight of them winning everything 70's & 80's when I grew up around going to the game .. So satisfying beating them at Wembley ( or Anfield as one deluded poster claimed , and keep yer predictions coming ) ... Man City about to topple Utd in the League , so gonna be a real race winning the League now .. and that wont include Liverpool ...
Well done Chelsea better team on the day maybe if we had started the game with Carroll things might have turned out differently.Thought the two goals we conceded were soft Pepe Reina should have saved both of them esp the second one which had no pace at all.Upset with the small minority of fans who booed the national anthem but you would have thought the queen would have sent a member of her family to represent her.

Got to be the first time in living memory no royals have appeared?
