Now I agree that penalties are a harsh way to decide a game. Especially being on the end of many a loosing side both for country and club. But I can't help feeling that he is only raised this now, as an English club won it and in they style that it was won. Would he be raising this if one of the so called fashionable clubs had won on penalties, after an exhilarating 4 -4 score? We all have a suspicion on the real feelings UEFA and FIFA have for the English game. This debate has raged on for many years, with countless suggestions for alternatives but it always seems that penalties are the most fairest and simplest option.
I know there are alot of juniors turnaments that has the rule that if a game ends in a draw then the team with the most corners wins. That way you promote attacking football since its most likely the team with most corners that is the most offensive
They've done studies, you know. 60% of the time it works, every time.

100% mate. it's laughable. what about the stadium announcer in the final???? his response to Muller scoring was unreal. Didn't hear much condemnation from UEFA about that If that happens at Wembley next year with a brit team and announcer, it'll be headline news FFS.
"The nightmares invading the sleep of Bayern fans involve four horsemen of the Champions League Apocalypse riding towards them. As the faces come into focus, they will recognise Frank Lampard, Cole, Petr Cech and Drogba. All were immense..."

The idea I like is to take the penalty shoot-out after ninety minutes and then play the thirty minutes of extra-time. It'd make the losers of the shoot-out play attacking football to try and win it.
