And, in fairness to him, he remained tight lipped after he wasn't initially selected and never said he wasn't available. Micah Richards on the other hand is a fanny for throwing his toys out the pram and refusing to be a stand by player.
It's not that big a blow as Lescott was one of the best centre halves in the premiership last season and many felt he should have started anyway. Rio's kind of experience is invaluable and the player chosen ahead of him has a grand total of 12 league appearances to his name last season and made his international debut last week. The chap should be rightly pissed off.
From what I have read it is his agent that's been crying. Rio is better than most of those that have selected but is very injury prone in these types of competitions and that could be the reason he has been left out. He has played well this season but isn't as good as he once was and you have too give the new a chance sooner or later. Both he and JT have never said there would be a problem playing together so I doubt that's the reason.
I thought the reason he was omitted originally was because of his inability to play consecutive games due to his injury(s)? Isn't that what Fergie said? in which case, wouldn't matter really who pulls out if that's the reason.

I think RH made the right decision to leave him out. It was either him or JT. Choose both and there would be negative feeling in the team. RH obviously felt JT was the better defender. Personally, I agree.
Although you've proven already you know fuck all and you've got some weird Chelsea blinkers on (and personally I like Chelsea).
Shit situation for Hodgson, no idea what I'd do. Agree Cahill is a big blow, but should be okay with Lescott. Can't ask much more than a first team regular CB in a Prem winning team.
