Always bought Dvd myself but this afternoon watched my first Blu Ray disc the picture & sound quality was amazing.

I would say it's good but not amazing. A bit like when you go from DTV to HDTV, it is better but you soon get used to it.

If you were an idiot like me you'd have bought a HD DVD player before blu-ray won the fight. An expensive ornament!

Was watching 3D round a mates last week, very impressed

Bluray, but the quality varies so much from film to film.

Decent kit matters more - ie tv, sound system. And the quality of the original film.

like above depends on your gear

reason you get TEN GRAND tvs 1080p from b&0 amongst other then the same spec tv from bush for £250 as well as blu ray players at £50 when some are 2-3 grand .

will look clearer on bluray for the right money with god kit..

my advise is to buy an older dvd player from early 2000,s when they were steel tank machines with high end circitry,sony amongst a few others did these that can be got now for £40/£50 quality is fantasticly natural and smoth for longer viewing periods...pish all over and cheap modern day bluray player as well as my recently aquired samsung shite plastic 3d player that stopped working after watching 3 films

My old man spent heavily earlier last year into a new panasonic 46" tv and matching Blue ray player.
It is the business. I always try and look out for the ones which have the two discs - Blu ray & a dvd.
