Me too, was well into the original break's and funk and northern, for a while I used to mix it in with at the time big beat and early breakbeat, It's an amazing sound, I enjoy the proper r&b vintage rhythm & blues sound aswell, can't beat the soul in it, I still put it on lazy sunday's and chill out's but as time move's on I'm that wrapped up in the mixing and trying to get a couple of our night's going that I don't play it all as much as I used to, I still drop a few northern edit's or funk/breaks/reggae in my set's now
I will be DJ'ing at an all-nighter in manchester mid march. If anybody is in the area wants to pop along and see what its all about. Its a well attended nighetr possibly one of the best attended in the country right now.
i'll be playing a ncie selection of soul music not just northern but there will be some northern.
Big fan. Always liked it from my uncle who had loads of it, i used to go to the ritz alnighters in manchester when i lived there and was amazed by how big it was. Go to the odd one at the goodyear club in wolves now, chuck jackson all over the world was me wedding song, well second, misses add her way, weller was first, the modfather himself, who was my god when growing up. So couldnt complain really.

I've always wondered the same mate. There's that much out there it's hard to know where to start. Always liked the music, been to a few nights, but had no clue what to listen to at home.
I just ended up getting a few compilation albums and then followed up tracks I liked from them. I like my motown so tracks with big voices on get me overtime
