One for the history buffs this so thought I'd share. I'm from a small village in South Wales which makes up the Aber valley along with the village of Senghenydd. During the morning of the 14th October 1913, an explosion rippled through the local pit killing 439 miners. This twitter account is running in 'real time' so reporting as the disaster is unfolding, very moving but brilliant at the same time.
Had never heard of it but saw it on the news the other day as they unveiled a statue for it,something like 800 kids lost their dads that day because of one stray spark. Sad stuff.
Wasn't aware of this until I saw it on the news this week either, very grim for all those men and their families and good that the story is being re-told
