good points : 1. Its a blue ray player 2. Graphics are impressive 3. Inbuilt kinect and voice activation which is apparently more accurate then xbox 360. bad points: 1. You cant play old xbox360 games on it 2. The price is pretty shocking i think 3. Have you seen the size of the thing 4. The games are poor 5. You have to have a good, fast internet connection or you cant have one, so there!
I will probably get one eventually but not until the price is at least halved
As said below the graphics are great, at the moment they are up there with a high end PC as for the Kinect I don’t use it, I have the Day One edition Xbox One but I have switched off all the in game features of the Kinect, it’s more of a gimmick than anything, maybe they will find a better way to use it but at the moment and as it has been it’s just a way of making you move your arms or shout at the TV to do something in game.
The dashboard is rather messy, I assume they have done it so it looked like the Windows 8 operating system and the style you get on windows phones with panels ect but it feels very clunky to manoeuvre around and some settings aren’t where you would expect them maybe it’s coming from the 360 were you know where all files are saved but on this it’s new and it will take time to get used to, I think Microsoft have noticed this and are planning an update to make it slightly less complicated.
The speed that the console loads games can do different features is light years ahead of the 360 but it is 8 years younger than the 360,
The games I have are:
Forza 5 – best game on the console at the moment, looks amazing and plays even better Dead Rising 3 – not the best looking game that’s on the system but does look better than anything from the previous generation and the amount of zombies on screen at once is unreal Battlefield 4 – looks great, but it’s a mess of a game lost my single player save file about 3 times and multiplayer is bugged to fuck, not worth the money Ryse: Son of Rome – Nice little game, can be rather short but looks amazing, game play is great too, I think this could be the first game to hit the sales so worth a pick up if it goes under the £40 price range FIFA 14 – Not played it really, looks pretty, feels smooth whist playing but this came bundled with my Xbox One and I’m a PES fan so I don’t like the feel of FIFA but it does have the Ultimate Team feture which the PS4 does not and if you or anyone else wants to play that game mode on a next gen console the Xbox One is the only one you can play that on.
The size of the console is large but I don’t have a problem fitting it next to my TV, I have a load of consoles hooked up to my TV and it sits fine there.
Other great thing about the system is Skype, I didn’t think I would use this but it’s great I can talk to my mates if they are on their PC playing a game or my Mrs if she’s on her phone, you can use the Kinect as a microphone also which pics up sound great and to video call or you can use the little headset you get with the console,
That’s about it really, if you want to know anything else let me know, I’ll try and get a picture up later of the size of the console next to my TV.
