Hi Gents,

Just wondering if there's any photography enthusiasts out there that could recommend a Digital Camera.
Im looking to buy as a gift for my partner, wanting to spend around £200.
Any suggestions???

With £200 pal you will be looking to get a compact camera if buying new and to tell you the truth most of the camera phones nowadays do just as good a job.

If you wanted to buy 2nd hand and get stuff along the way you could branch out to the SLRs or maybe a micro 4/3 (four thirds).just depends how serious your partner want to take it pal.

I have a few cameras with lenses around the house ranging from £300 - £2000 and to tell you the truth it's a mission sometimes to get them out and crank them up.it takes time and planning.not something I can just use all the time.

last two holidays I have used my camera on my phone and tried to spend more time on the composition rather than worrying about the camera I am using and the pics have been great

Thanks for your advice mate, she uses her phone a lot and enjoy's photography so was going to get her a basic one first off to see if she liked it. Then see how she gets on with that or if she uses it then maybe look at the camera's with attachable lenses.

Yeah that sounds like the best plan.sure there is some good reviews out there.maybe Google 'best cameras for £200' and see if it comes up with anything

Had a look at them SLR camera's and for what its worth i might as well get her one of them.
