[i]The Snow Smock, with its white with an off grey splinter print, was designed primarily for winter camouflage. The original smocks were very lightweight and loose-fitting, to be worn over other garments and equipment. Later they were conceived as complete jackets for troops working constantly in winter conditions.
The jacket fabric -OJJ- is made in Japan and is a knitted nylon/polyester micro-fibre, which is finished exclusively in Italy by Ten c. This jersey will, with time, mould itself almost imperceptiblyÊto your body and will acquire, with use, a unique individual patina, each jacket reflecting its own personal history and that of its user.
The original version is a Norwegian jacket from the 1970s. The idea of the snow smock is based on a Field Jacket design with an attached hood and is derived from The Heroes of Telemark, a movie that continues to inspire Alessandro Pungetti۪s and Paul Harvey۪s winter collections.
The jacket features unique functional details; such as the way the hood is let into the front to protect the wearer from harsh conditions, snow pockets which feature a short cuff detail to keep out rain or snow, and a belt inserted into the waist similar to ski jackets from the 1950s. The snow smock is also particularly suited to being filled with a Ten c quilted liner and felted hood, which will provide the wearer with a very rugged and utilitarian winter jacket.
