I would go as far as saying they are the greatest band of my generation. Not done a great deal for me in the last 10 years seemed to slip into beatles by the numbers on their last 4 or 5 records but definatly maybe, whats the story and the masterplan are 3 of the best albums ever made. Definatly maybe in particular is a masterpeice, i would rate it as being better than revolver but thats just my personal preference of course....
on a related note ive just had a flashback of my maine road impression saturday night...jesus [spook]
I love them. Was working at Roskilde Festival in Denmark a couple of years ago as a network admin and my only request was that when Oasis played i wasn't working.
They granted me that and it was a bomb of a concert :D
They've done studies, you know. 60% of the time it works, every time.
A whole thread on Oasis in 2011, I thought I was reading the wrong forum, saw them a few time's and they have their place in history, what's done is done though, it's like having a Who thread, or a Rolling Stones Thread

my names wadey....and so do i!! the best band of the time,,wasnt hard though.....awesome live act too, seen them a good few times....no time for there later stuff, but the first 3 albums just remind me off good times...Knebworth in the dark is no place to be when your tripping your bollox off lol!!!.......met Liam at Sheffield arena and was a great bloke for the time i spoke with him
Oasis were my band. I worshipped them. I was too young to see any of the early tours but went to Earls Court for Be Here Now. Not sure how many times I ended up seeing them, ranging from terrible to life-defining moments, but the anticipation before gigs was always immense. Yes, the most recent 3 albums probably had 3 decent songs between them. But even though Standing on the... had a couple of good tracks too, they should have killed it before Heathen Chemistry. The music became a sideshow to the main event which was Oasis live. The problem was Oasis started to look less and less interested on stage, the ticket prices got dearer, the crowds were terrible, the drugs got even worse, the hangovers lasted days (after City of Manchester I was bed bound for a week), and you get tired spending a fortune to be surrounded by 10,000 dickheads, getting covered in piss, watching 5 blokes trying their hardest to look like they're not enjoying themselves
it would be a very close call for me between oasis and the stone roses has to my favourite band, seen oasis 7 times, best gig i saw them do was by far the gig the did at the millenium staduim think it was 2005. Worst gig was the one i went to at slane castle dublin, complete farce.
one of my favourite songs would have to be dont go away, saw noel do it on his own as an acoustic at MEN, was fantastic
my favourite band seen them twice once when i was 16 in 2008 and the following year at heaton park both were good but they looked past there best and to be honest kasabian smashed it at heaton park. also cant really stand liam anymore pretty green is horrendous and all he seems to do is slag off noel, which is a shame coz he used to be very cool and my 'idol' if you like he even used to dress pretty well. having said that i quite like the new beady eye song 'the roller' and hate that everyone hates oasis just coz 'liams a dick' or there 'has beens'...

That had me in fucking stitches pal. you got it bang on, for me that was the Real Oasis, still one foot in that raw manchester vibe that gave Manchester identity a second wind. The coming from a Rotherham lad... ;-)
Remember buying Definately Maybe on tape and listening to it non-stop, probably one of the first albums I got really into, hearing the start of Supersonic or Slideaway still makes get a bit of a swagger on even now! Seen them live about half a dozen times although hve to admit the last time (at Heaton Park) was a pretty grim experience all round - shit weather, shit sound and surrounded by proper cunts (saw one bloke bang his bird out after an argument). Have also had some of the best days out/sessions of my life while watching them and they'll always be up there for me just because of the earlier releases (including Be Here Now ) and because they were one of the first bands that really got me into music. Let me be the one who shines with you.....
Quality live, but have to say remembering seeing the best band to front their gig at birm was the mighty ocean colour scene 3 days before xmas, fucking awesum xxx
