Yes, just after he transferred to Milan he crashed his Ferrari quite badly, was out for about a year and never the same player again.
My interest in Italian football and from there, other aspects of Italian culture can be traced back to that show. I remember tuning in to the first shows back in 1992 and loving the whole scene. Since then I've always followed what is going on in the Italian game (on and off the pitch), read a few decent books, even learned a bit of the language as well.
i must have watched a differnt show. everybody sating how great italian footie was then. all i remember was 1-0 wins. italians wouls shut up shop wether 1st min or 65th minute. all the games werw 1-0. u never git a 302 say! maybe just my memory. always thought british football was better to watch then and now

Much more defensive, granted. And generally slower pace as well. But skill level seemed higher or maybe its just nostalgia etc but loved the whole Italian gig then and still do. Know what you mean about most games ending 1-0 but saw Lazio play Salernitana (Salerno) and it finished 6-1 to Lazio after Salernitana were 1-0 up. And the away fans stormed the gates.
