I do a fair bit of running, few marathons and that but me knees are fucking shot these days after 35 years of rugby. I've started walking a bit, do a long un once a month and then go on the piss. Generally do tow paths as they are nice and flat...
I'm doing the Cotswolds way in June 103 miles in four days and rough camping. Should be good...
I did do a fair bit of rambling over the years but once started to seem cool through the Casco lads I packed it in, honestly was just bored walking around and just seeing greenery, not really my thing, Our kid loves it and done a lot of the major walks, Cycling and gym for me

I'll call your shot knees and raise you rheumatoid arthritis in the knees.......... ankle, wrist, finger! I blame the knees on the running days of my twenties.
Walked the cobbler in scotland when I was younger. Done it in a pair of trainers. Was fine the whole way up (til we realised we climbed the wrong peak and couldnt climb through the 'eye of the needle') but the way down my feet were in pieces.
Enjoyed it but, would do something like that again.
I'm a runner - usually do about 40-odd miles a week. I'll race anything from 5K to a half marathon. Only done one marathon in my life, when I was a lazy student and had the time.
like my cross country running a lot but been out of it a while due to lower back problems, was training for a marathon when I slipped a disc. since then ive got back into it gradually but no-where near where i was and more into weight training at the gym now. Walking wise I've been up to the highlands a few times, north wales too, and can't beat the adrenaline rush of climbing a mountain and looking out on the world below. sounds poncy but feels fucking great when you finally make it up.
Go to scarborough once every 2 month, walk along the cliff tops, it's ooking brillian, walked for 13 miles once not even knowing, time just flies, still wish i had some of the pics, they were quality.
When I get the time I go out running. Can't beat it for stress relief and clearing a muddled head after a shite week at work. Best is to go out running in the rain it cleanes the soul. I'd love to do a marathon but just couldn't commit to the training involved. Got a pair of Brookes trainers for my running now , they look shocking but are the best runners I've had.
Cycling's where it's at - easy on the knees (with the right clipless pedals) and allows you to get into buying swanky bike parts, frames, wheels etc that'll detrract you from jackets, trainers, shirts etc :-) Be careful though as it can be pricey - especially if you get into Rapha clothing ...
