Very much a hit or miss - took my missus to see him in Edinburgh (Corn Exchange) a few years ago, kept walking off moaning about the sound, lighting & his mic. I was also getting eyeballed by a mob of moody Hibs, which didn't exactly top what should have been a decent night.
All in all, great on an Ipod, not so great live IMHO

Not really a fan since the Roses, but always be keeping this signed postie, A good lad in Scotland sent me for the cellar. "Monkey's do it better" Also hear Adidas are bringing out a Ian Brown Zx trainer ;)
Although i like The Stone Roses, I think Ian Brown is a complete tosser sorry but to me he's like an indie Tim Westwood, also all of his best tunes were produced by UNKLE and that's why theyre good, just my opinion though.
Love him, saw him at Leeds not ot good then: still good show. then at plattfields thought he was CLASS and exellent show. However, could have been the amount of alcohol lol

A short sighted and ignorant comment if ever there was one![/quote]
It's not, I've listened to atleast 3 of his albums and the only tunes that stood out were FEAR and Be There, which seems very obvious but is true IMO. He is definitely not a 'god' anyway.
He's alright, been involved in one very good album and a couple of decent ones. Also released some pretty weak tracks and as mentioned above is very hit and miss live.

Your entitled to your opinion which is fair enough on those tracks, it's at this point where I could get dragged into an artist/producer debate but I will refrain. What I will say about this is the fact the whole idea behind the tracks is from the artist so your "conclusion" is somewhat short sighted is it not?
And if you knew anything about Brown you'd know he's released 6 solo albums, of which you've only listened to half! If I'm not mistaken that is a somewhat ignorant footing to base your "conclusion" is it not?
cant help but think he's a bit of an arrogent so and so, loved the stone roses, and like some of his solo stuff.....saw him in Sheffield and fair to say he was poor vocaly, great band he has mind, did a top version of billie jean!

No you're right I don't know much about Ian Brown and maybe he did have the ideas for the tracks UNKLE produced, i just get annoyed at the fact people call him a 'god' and worship him when there's a lot better artists of a simmilar genre you could be listening to for example Tricky or even UNKLE whos first album is better than anything I've heard by Brown. This is only my opinion of course.
