i dont see it getting any better in the forseeable anyway, i hate this place sometimes. i wish i left for oz when i enquired about it 7 years ago, oh how i regret that now
Never, ever, argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience
I think the country is fucked. Everybody just seems so apathetic to what is going on. I think the majority of the population are that screwed with debt that they are prepared to see basic rights at work disappear from fear of losing their job if they complain. Under the Tories/lib coalition things will just get worse for the average man.
I haven't been following the whole thing very much, but from the little things I have heard, it seems pretty fucked. But I reckon that the Brits are quite tough people, so you'll fight through it.
Another interesting thing to see is how the youth cultures will react to it, seeing how it all went down in the 80's under Thatcher.
Quite surprised since I moved here how negative people look on the future. Some saying that we're looking at a 15 year depression ahead of us which might be worse than that under Thatcher. A lot of the signs is clear.. economic crisis, cuts on welfare, stricter immigration laws, all seems to go hand in hand. Despite the liberals in Denmark in power basically moving towards a tory style of governing, the danish welfare state is still much much better and more effective than the british and the crisis back in Denmark isn't near as bad as it is here.
Whats the forums policy on politics?? :D
The category of the prosumer commodity does not signify a democratization of the media towards participatory systems, but the total commodification of human creativity

Freedom of speech here my man
Brilliant mate. I've turned radical since starting at uni You get so pissed of when reading at uni. "The joys of ignorance"!! Read this brilliant quote yesterday:
Zitat We are taught that life is like a racetrack: that merit will find its own reward. This is the central way our system legitimates itself and motivates people to compete. But what a strange racetrack! In reality some people start half-way along the track, while others are forced to run with a millstone around their necks, while others are not even allowed on to the racetrack at all. The values of an equal and meritocratic society which capitalism inculcates into people are constantly at loggerheads with the actual material inequalities in the world.
