The devastation in Japan really puts life into perspective, we need to appreciate what we have and how lucky we actually are to have such good lives.
Just thought I had to say it, cheers
You are, indeed, spot on. We lose the run of ourselves sometimes and, yes, lots of us experience harshness in our our lives at some stage but I don't think we could truly comprehend the destruction and devastation in Japan unless we experienced it ourselves. A tragedy, no doubt. I was just looking at my daughter last night whilst also watching the images on sky news thinking to myself I was lucky to have such a vibrant, healthy little girl and hoping she would never experience anything like that in her lifetime.
I said this today about another situation with some mates including this lads Uncle - http://www.cal4u.co.uk/cals-page. however, we went down to the local and before the rugby started there was a minutes silence for what we thought was the Japanese earthquake. 99% of the people in the pub were silence but one ol' boy piped up during the silence about these http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_war_crimes.

That's out of context mate, although I see where he was coming from.

I wasn't condoning it. And the consensus was the same as yours. Would the same apply to elderly Jewish people today if it had been in Germany.
The point of the thread was to appreciate what we have as you never know what is round the corner, live life everyday and to the full and take the positives as much as you can. The events in Japan was an example, no more no less.
Got to feel for them. I have been getting woke up all night by the better half worried about the nuke station . She misunderstood and thought it was wepeons and not a station ? That was gonna blow daft fookers lol
