Always liked an occasional flutter whether it be the horses or football, nothing major just a few quid here and there. I'm a member of Betfair but don't really use it all that much. Been a quiet day at work though so went on with the intention of listening to the racing and putting a few lines down....then I went into the arcade. Anyone else on here tried online blackjack? Within a few minutes I was up, greed took over...then I was down....needed to win it back....when I got back to even I logged out. No wonder gambling becomes an addiction, putting a few quid on in Ladbrokes is nothing compared to the instant gratification (or lack of) that comes online. I think of myself as pretty liberal around these things but I don't see how this ease of use can be healthy to society, who knows how many bods up and down the country are spending hours throwing their cash away?
I love betting and gambling. I won't kid myself that I am not into it.
Nothing major though. I just love the fact I am watching a sport I like or playing a game I am enjoying with the chance to make a few quid. However, I never know when to leave those machines or table and I just end up losing. Start with £20. You get £40. You get £80. No you are at £160. That voice in your head saying you can make £320 from £20 always gets the better of me and I lose. For that reason I will not get an online account as I will just lose money day in, day out. I fully understand how people are addicted. Sad really.
I was sucked in the moment, I won 700 odd pounds years ago off one pound, and didnt pay the tax either. Dont bother much unless a saturday @ work flutter, As in whatever i do I always do the extreme so keep it carpet. chased the roulette table a few times, and something about betting big in a casino, ego shit, but good fun. nowadays I just justify the money I could lose would screw up a potential purchase ;)
Same as the roulette machines they seem to let you win a few quid then take it back plus a bit more . There are a few hopeless cases in the bookies I use , one fella probably in his late 50s was always shoving 20 after 20 into it ,I asked how his luck was , he told me he had lost the money from his mothers house sale , he had £5000 left out of £160000 in the space of 18 months.
