Removed a listing I had that had 60 watching and about 8 bids, One day before it's about to end.
Said it had too many brand names in the description that do not describe the item. I fucking hate the place, not even a email to ask if the brand names are related to the item they just pull it. Absolute cunts.
i've had this i few times. nightmare
It's happened to me before, I was selling 4 or 5 t shirts, they ended 3 that had the most bids and the highest price, left the other ones. Again the day before they were due to sell.
Then of course when I re-list the other ones they look dodgy to the buyers because they have been re-listed and they went for fuck all.
I've had that before aswell selling a pair of M&S leather trainers I put on the title Prada style and it got pulled for that. You see titles now for an item with about 20 names there which sometimes is annoying but does make searching for random things easier.
The thing is I'm sure none of us would mind doing a search for red wings and finding the Gorilla work boots that I was selling. I had yuketen and quoddy in the title as well.
I know it can be annoying when you do a search for albam and topshop chinos come up but at least the brands were related. But ebay is never going to listen to you.
I lifted the exact title from a auction that finished about a week ago because they got a good price. Why did ebay not see this? Did someone grass on me?
It's if it pisses people off aswell and they report it as spamming, I sold some Grenson on the bay last year and the title had GRENSON WILLIAM like Trickers etc and someone messaged me a sarcy comment along the lines of "If I knew that Grenson were selling Trickers for the same price as Trickers then I wouldn't buy them from Trickers, these however are Grenson and should be labelled as such" and it was taken off an hour later, just comes down to too many people having not enough thing's going on in their live's, like the neighbour who watches you walk to the shop through the window, or lad at work who monitors you from a distance waiting for a wrong movement......
To be honest a lot of ebay listings take the absolute piss with keywords/tags etc. Nearly all have fucking Oi Polloi in them now, for this reason other users now have to suffer.
Aye you're right but mines was related to the other brands, and did have oi polloi in it.
For example Ian, say I was selling a new brand of moccassins that aren't well known, no one would search for them but if I shoved quoddy in the title and you came across them after a search for Quoddy you would be quite happy. Obviously I wouldn't do this with a pair of River Island shoes (which some people do) but the boots I was selling are on par if not better quality than the ones I included in the listing. It's just a kick in the teeth that they pull it with one day to go as well.
Anyway I'm a bit happer now. Had a fried egg sannie, a fag and a cup of tea haha.
tbh i hate it when i do an albam search and 70% of the hits are not albam but people who wrote 4 different brands in the header. Why the fuck cant people just state what it is instead of oipoloi/albam/cp company/adidas
Beats me why people do it but i think that kinda header should be pulled tbh
They've done studies, you know. 60% of the time it works, every time.

I wasn't having a dig at you personally as I don't know what was in the listing, it's annoying though when your searching and you get 3 pages with only one item being made from the brand your after.
That's what I've just said mate. The boots were quite an unknown brand but on par if not better quality wise.
Would you complain if you searched for Albam and came across the next big up and coming British menswear label and picked up a bargain that no one else has?
I do agree that people listing topman chinos as albam is annoying but in my case I think if I didn't put the other brand I would have had no interest.

Aye I know mate I actually agree with you but in some cases I am happy to see other brands in the title.
I suppose what I mean is in some cases it's fine but others it's not but I imagine it would be impossible to police on ebay's side so they just end up fucking the good cunts over and let people continue selling their shite with oi polloi /albam/ cabourn in the title.
I know it's not like i can go and chuck brake fluid over their motor or pan their windows in. They've removed my listing and the 5 quid or whatever they would of got from me is a pebble in the ocean to them (i think that's the phrase if not I like that one so I'm using it).
I must say, it does really annoy me that when I get e-mails telling me that my eBay search for 'adidas 08 Dublin 9' has been found, they are usually not Dublins but some other shyte.

*drop in the ocean
Like the idea of doing their motor, obviously if they gave you a quid you'd 'mind their car'!
It does my head in when your looking for a perticular brand and then 3 pages of stuff that is clearly not the brand you want has it listed in the title description! About time Ebay started sorting it out, i mean type in 80s casuals t shirt and look at the amount of stuff that comes up! Bloody pain in the arse if you ask me
Live life to the full and enjoy, try and help people who havn't got as much as you, you never know what tomorrow will bring!!!!

The lad at Parkhead goes up to a guy parking his motor and asks him for a pound to watch it. Guy says na you're alright mate my rottweillers in the back. Wee guy says back aye but can your rottweiller put out fires
tbh it don't bother me , sometimes I just type Oipolloi and look what came out. And If I cvan sell something on ebay I ld do the same just because it get more people. you can skroll all shite it takes not much time of course if people don't go mental with this title

Here's my views anyway.
People obviously do it, because if it has 'oi polloi' in it it will come up in more related searches etc. Ebay do have the right to do it, and it's happened to me before, had to do some pissing daft quiz so I basically learned my lesson.
Crafty way of being able to do it though, here's 2 bits i'm selling at the moment ...
