I've been a fan of Secret Cinema for years, one of his best is the orginal "Timeless Altitude". Egbert has been producing and DJ'ng for a few years, some of his releases on Cocoon have been the business.

Wasn't aware he was around for a longer period mate, might try to find some of his older records. I've always wondered if techno/minimal was big in the UK, it's got quite some audience here in Holland, with some big festivals based purely on techno/techhouse/minimal etc. Are you familiar with the Awakenings organisation? I'm attending the festival, and it has a ridiculously good line-up, sounds right up your street.

You can hear some of his earlier stuff on the first pages of his soundcloud, Sven Vath has been supporting his music from the beginning!

Minimal is the main techno genre these days, not just in the UK and Europe but globally aswell. It became popular around 4-5 years ago in the UK and basically overnight there were events and new producers popping up all over which kind of saturated the market to an extent. I've always been a fan of the harder side of techno but I listen to it all and play whatever has a good groove whether it be 128 or 140 BPM.

Awakenings is probably the biggest techno festival of the summer and I've always wanted to get to it but never had the chance. The live sets that appear online in the aftermath of it are always good, some of Ben Sims' best live sets are from Awakenings, Hawtins are top notch aswell. Definitely something to think about for next year.

After a short hiatus The Poeticast is back with some techno sounds that have been reverberating around my manor of late. Enjoy.
