Get a jacket that fits well. Fasten the jacket and lay it down flat. Then measure from arm pit to arm pit. This gives you the exact chest size and can be compared to one you have never tried on. If it has the same measurements it will fit you like the jacket you measured in the first place.............Simple when you know how.
