...watching a few atm, iam really surprised...prices are mental sometimes. what do the racers on here think? is it normal or just a hype? does someone has a advice to save some money?
It's a big thing right now I bought an Raleigh racer from a boot fair a few years ago for £20. Said bike would know go on eBay for £200. Gumtree is the best place to source old bikes, I'm after a bianchi frame right now.
You can pick up an equally good, IMO better, bike for significantly less from a small frame builder. Remember, most of those who are buying such bikes currently actually know very little about what they're buying so they head straight towards the famous "names", bumping the prices up significantly.
thats exactly what i thought, wanking over merckx and colnago bikes, maybe just to ruin it and to build a fixed gear out of it...
even koga miyaga goes for silly money... over 350 euros on the german bay... thats really crazy somehow. and some of them arent really in "top condition"...
People who have breaks on fixed bikes confused the funk out me anyway. If your not confident enough to ride fixed, dont do it! Why ruin a good frame with holes.
It's the buzz of flying in and out of traffic at 40mph with no brakes and no toe clips. I think its fascinating but your gotta have a death wish to ride pure that like. Not for me.
