Had a guy from the council round last night discussing the redevelopment of the area - roads, green spaces etc. We'd been chatting for about two minutes when he asked if he could come in to discuss it further and seemed a bit taken aback when I said I'd prefer he didn't. On the same note a woman I work with is banging on about how getting a cleaner for a couple of hours a week is one of the best things she ever did, saves her loads of time etc but no chance would I let a stranger poke around my gaff (let alone paying someone to clean up after me!). Even with my mates I feel a bit off about them coming round, much prefer to meet in the pub or in the summer sit out in the garden.
Anyone else feel like this or am I well on my way to becoming an oddball/loner/potential social recluse?
In your defense there is no way a boat load of my mates are coming round mine in the summer months, getting pissed and generally abusing my hospitality. Did it just the once many moons ago, took 2 days to clean the house up, fuck that, never again. Having said that weather permitting my good lady and myself have been invited to a mates barbie this weekend, i'm sure i'll be on my best behaviour at theirs.
I find it best to not talk to people..... anywhere. At work reguarly someone passes trying to say hello, "fuck off" I think and keep walking, when they get really close to me I just scream or shout until they go away.
There are people around me now I'm just holding bits of A4 paper in front of their face until they get the message. Not enough partioning in this world... if only I could work in a box. And live there too.

You're talking my language now Sean. Reading the comments on this thread has made me feel like a right anti-social bastard!

A wet secretary? In a tight white blouse perhaps? Pics?
Im quite the opposite really, enjoy inviting people round and having folk over, only problem is the missing person rate has shot up since i moved in the village. Best one was the other evening when some electricity man knocked on the door saying how bills are going up, and if we had seen the adverts on the telly, I told him I wouldnt know mate since we dont watch TV, this was while the tv was blasting out in the background
