Although I'm hijacking my own thread, Sheffield Eagles (egg chasing) played a game yesterday at Bramall Lane.
Noticed on the jumbo screen at the last Blades match that you could hire a pitch-side hottub to watch the game! http://sheffieldeagles.co.uk/content/hot-tub-heaven Bearing in mind it was chucking it down all day yesterday, I bet it was some sight!
Went to Langkawi 2002 ,was staying in Penang on holiday ,went for a days excursion ,went across on the hydrofoil which was a nightmare (very rough crossing, came back on the plane ,cost about $20 more than the boat for four of us,20min to get back why didn't they tell us this when we booked) anyway ,had a mini bus tour, went to a crocodile zoo type thing that was shit ,took a look at a waterfall ,saw wild snakes and monkeys, had a meal & some beers, went to the beach ,al crammed into a few hours, would I go again NO although this was a few years ago it may have changed and be the best place you have ever been, I was also dragging round two young kids in the heat & 100% humidity which maynot have helped with my prespective of the place. On the other hand Penang I would defo go back to ,stayed at the Shangri-la hotel and resort which was excellent. KL is a fantastic place ,also been to kwantan on the east coast of Malaysa another top place. Hope this helps mate but I was only there a few hours, just a tip if you do go! If you have your balcony doors open, keep an eye out!!!!we had a couple of wild monkeys run in and steal our fruit bowl,
Wild monkeys? I'm there! Thanks for the info mate. Always good to get peoples opinions. I'm hearing mixed reports about Langkawi so thinking of putting it on the back burner, and will look into Penang Would like to visit KL though, supposed to be one of those places where you can buy a meal off the street for a quid, right next to a michelin star restaurant.
Also heard that Sri Lanka is good value for money. I quite fancy Hawaii but it costs a fortune and I'd be worried about it being a bit too american (no offence)
The street food is so cheap,we paid as little as 2p for a stick of chicken sate with sauce(think it was chicken???)off this old fella with a charcoal BBQ welded to his bike, staggering around with about 30p worth of sate was a common end to an evening
KL is a top place been a couple of times having a 2-3 night stop over is recommended, the booze is expensive everywhere in Malaysa so get as much duty free as you can and get half popped before you go put on the town.
Why not go back to Gisbourne, have a week or so , then get a flight to the Gold Coast (about 2.5hours) then get a stop over in KL on the way home???????$$$$$$$$$
That's what I'm looking for in a honeymoon, BBQ'd rat on a stick Would love to go back to NZ mate. Going to be early August though, not spending a day on a plane for UK-esque weather
I'll get back down there in a few years, probably after my divorce
Not been to Sri Lanka but know a few who have and the reports have been pretty glowing - friendly locals, decent infastructure and amazing beaches. Not sure what you're looking for but it's somewhere that I've got down as a place to visit. In that part of the world I've been to Hong Kong, Thailand, Cambodia and Loas all of which I'd recommend but probably not the best for a honeymoon. Although that's probably down to my limited budget at the time and interest in getting fucked up as opposed to romantically watching the sun set with the missus!

My wife just reminded me for 2 beds & a brolly on the beach was 40 dollars a day that was 10years ago

Aye, heard that Cambodia and that general region is a bit special. Think I'd get bored in the Maldives, does look amazing though
