Okay it's a recent, but honestly watch this if you can, it's beyond good, easy to say now but i think it will stand up as one of the best films ever made.
some films I haven't seen so will be making a note to watch them.
Tone - great pic. not many films fill you with absolute dread but imagining myself in a Turkish Jail was one of them
