Not a personal choice of mine, i'm off on a cruise and you have to get on in Marmaris but it stays in port for 2 days before it moves, then it leaves Turkey.
I never get posts like this when lads are going to a resort on holiday (can understand if going to a huge city). Surely part of the holiday is finding places and mooching around yourself?

I understand and agree with what you're saying to an extent, it's just i dont have long in Marmaris really so was just asking for tips so it would be easy to find the best part of the city and i wouldn't miss anything.

Its a fucking shithole. Saying that I ain't been to Turkey since Kev & Chris (RIP) the 2 Leeds lads were murderd in Istanbul so may have inproved somewhat.
Been twice around 15 years ago. First year, a crowd of family went, we got a scam going with the waiters so got cheap/free drink and food the whole time so virtually never left the hotel complex. Next year, did the 'normal' holiday thing and hence haven't been back nor will I be. Ever. The nicest thing I could say about Marmaris is that you're pretty much guaranteed good weather. But Turkish hygiene, manners and character attributes aren't something you'll remember fondly (and I feel I can generalise on that given it was a significant % this applied to.....)

your right fwdcp, went there two years ago. The city itself is shit, far to hot and fake clothing everywhere you look. It's best to walk to the harbour and go on one of the boats, the mountains seen from the water are a lovely sight.
Took the missus and two kids into Marmaris to go to the KFC as the hotel food where we were staying was minging, we were relieved to get back out of it. Horrible place. Watch your back out there, would be easy to get into trouble.
Find a pool and stay there, and ask the waiter/waitress to bring you a cold Effes every 30 minutes. English wankers in football shirts and scandinavian blonde cunts all over the place, and clubs that plays Basshunter and similar obscure music. Annoying turks pestering and grabbing you wherever you go. The Effes beer as said is good, rest is horror.

It's the way I am Mac. Barry from Scene would confirm this.Quite a few reds have the same feelings.
Been there loads of times and love it there, never had one jot of bother and made a few good friends with some of the bar owners. Most of the restaurants/bars are owned and staffed by Kurds who don't give a flying fuck for Istanbul or Turkish politics, they like the English and love our football. Have always stayed in high end hotels which are too notch and eaten at some lovely gaffs. As for shopping, not really worth bothering, a lacoste shop in the point centre, an Adidas shop down in the bazaar and a shop called elita that had a Paul and shark concession along with boss and Armani and such like. If you like rangers there's an official ibrox bar ( the owner has a box at ibrox) where you can amuse yourself by watching the jocks singing and dancing to their crazy songs! Me I'd grab a spot on the beach, get a cold beer and watch the sun go down over the bay, Tis beautiful!

Get off your high horse, i know why it's frowned upon due to the deaths etc..
But no one else knew in my house where we was going except my mum as she's a travel agent and she booked it before letting any of us know.
