A lot of people are saying if England leave then others will follow. In this age of money and success I bet that no one would follow. The English FA would then realise they've fucked up with loss of revenue and come crawling back with it's tail between it's legs. It's a horrible organisation but I bet nothing will come of this.
only way is if the sponsors actually use their power ,money is the only thing that counts with fifa now, been one or two rumblings from coca cola, emirates and adidas but has to be more concrete.
The farce that is FIFA and the debate about cycling in another thread are reasons why I hate huge elements of modern day sport and have nothing but admiration for the likes of the Green Bay Packers and AFC Wimbledon.
African reps taking bribes for votes, who'd have thought it
I see our FA have basically been singled out and laughed at again today. When you've got countries like DR Congo having a pop you know that the whole lot are fucking bent. The reason no one else will speak out is because they've all been on the take at some point and are in each others pocket.
All this false economy comes from the fans and sponsors. People all over the world aren't about to stop watching footy on tv, so it's going to take a bold move from the sponsors to make FIFA even consider changing things. And by changing it needs starting again, like the Olympic Committee did a few years ago

Would the English FA be kicking off if they won the world cup bid though? It looks as if they were happy to play along and then as soon as it went against them they want things changed.
I'd love to see changes but won't happen, the FA and SFA are doing themselves no favours.
No one had the bottle to kick off and follow through what I cant understand is how totally wrong they are. Everyone in football can see this outfit for what they are personally I think we should come out but unfortunately until the likes of coca cola and the big sponsors withdraw theyre funding they will do nothing. If the sponsors start to get itchy and start to ask questions and pull out they will drop him like a hot stone.
Zitat von Mersons Bookiethe FA have really fucked it haven't they, there's basically no chance of us hosting a Euro or World Cup again while Blatter is at the top of the pile
Exactly. They're sketchy so I expect things to go against England after this. They despise the home nations and the power they have. They would absolutely love to get rid.

the euros are awarded by uefa with no figs involvement and by the time the 2026 world cup bidding comes along blatter will be well gone so I wouldn't worry about that.
I'm not really sure of all this pressure, I'm never gonna lose any of my old letters, 'Cause they'll stay with me, Until I can see that I'm no one

Whilst this is true and a good point the fact that Qatar fucking Qatar got chosen to host the World cup in their summer-time proves that FIFA are a bunch of corrupt scumbags. They changed all the rules of hosting the competition to accomodate them too. They don't even care that we all know they are corrupt.
I agree with you on that point. Going to be a horrible world cup that. Whilst we're on the subject, I hate the fact the likes of New Zealand and North Korea are able to qualify. I'd much rather see the worlds best teams rather than making it fair.

Don't get me started on the seeding.
To an extent I agree with you mate, I think the whole set up is designed to help spread Fifa's tentacles and secure blatter's position. The world cup in South Africa was a great example of that - just a ploy to spread Fifa deeper into Africa and get third world support to prop up the status quo. The worst thing is that almost every nation will have been guilty of this to some extent and as mentioned there is SFA that the fans can do.
Sometimes why I bother with professional football, the standard of players is bettter than ever but I resent handing money to the cunts when the games. Similarly despite the Barcelonas of this world I find a high scoring, end to end, kick and run second division game far more entertaining than a 1 - 0 win in (yet another) super sunday
It gets more and more embarrassing everyday. I think we're just going to have to suck it up and get on with it. FIFA is full of corrupt bastards but no one is willing to do anything about it. I sometimes wonder why I ever fell in love with this game.

Because it wasn't shit when we did... or at least not as much shit and corrupt. Before sky, Billion dollar endorsements ect.
