I've just got a wifi version. Generally use it at home and or city centres where there is plenty of free wifi. I don't need to be connected when on the go, besides the 3G signal on my regular train is shit!

that was my thinking, my experience with 3G is that its shit.
hmmmm, i must say the fact that wifis are 100 odd notes cheaper and for the sake of not being able to use it on the bus its worth not getting.....

Dont think i'd use it on a bus anyway for fear of it being nicked.
I'll have to say mate....3g in regards to ipads isn't worth it IMO....mainly due to the fact that it only takes one chancer to rob it from ya and dap away down the highstreet..... Wi-fi all the way mate especailly as it's a £100 odd notes saving
Most populated cities have an over abundance of wifi regardless and most public transportation (trains/coaches) have their own wifi signal for travelers.
Think you'll be fine without the 3g package.
Been debating about getting the IPad 2.. used one over a weekend and was very nice to have for an option to carrying a laptop about.
definitely wi fi imo, 3g just isnt up to it. also, im not sure but i think there might be some way of transferring the 3g conection on your phone into a wifi connection to your ipad anyway??

Yeah through creating a hotspot and 'tethering' although I'm not sure as to the cost of this and whether all providers offer it as a bolt on?
Had a go on my brothers wifi-only ipad at the weekend and though it was class. Forgot I still *just* qualify for the student discount so giving it some serious thought. Will probably go for the 32gig
Guys. I was very disappointed to find that apple only allow student discount on certain products. Despite the fact they encourage the iPad for learning and note taking etc, the discount does not apply to them.
