Just sent some cash to a fellow member of here via PPG but he's PM'd me saying that a fee has been charged regardless. Is this a new feature? I know the fees for ebay transfers etc have gone up a little bit over the past year or so but I've not been charged for sending cash as a gift before....
Recently I had someone say the same but I went to send it and it was fine. I think it has something to do with their account. Tell them to try 'payment owed'. They should also have the option to cover the fees so you get the amount you want. If you stated payments should be PPG then tell them to do that.
Hmmm, I'm going to fire an email to paypal and see if they can sort it. Seems a bit odd that they've just started charging although I read on another forum that sometimes if the recipient has already received a certain amount per month then fees are added??
recently I haven't been getting charged and that's when money is coming from ym bank and when it's in my pay-pal..they always charge if you're sending it abroad though..

If you receive a large amount of gift payments paypal will just email you saying that it's a bit suspicious and you won't be able to receive them anymore. So if that is the case the seller should know that has happened.
In your case you should have been made aware that you can send the full amount (say it is £20) but you will have to cover the fees, so it shows that the seller will receive £20 but you will be sending £21.
Zitat von SAFCBeaufortive been asked to pay a fee with larger numbers, so have just sent seperate smaller amounts
Thats what I do.
Sent £60-80 numerous times and no problems.
hmmm the amount I sent was less than that. Ah well, chalk it down to experience. I've spoken to the seller who is a sound lad and seems just as bemused as me. Hopefully Paypal will explain though...
Paypal are cunts. Good luck with getting a reply out of them. They suspended my business account for three months as too much money was going in!!! Would not let me send money then would not let money in. Mental.
Just to clear this up had a reply from paypal. I did not contact them cos i'm tight just so I knew for next time (HONESTLY) anyway i'v copy and pasted their reply.
Thank you for contacting PayPal regarding your recent payment received under transaction ID 836190027B1703K. PayPal was originally designed as a service for individuals - people whomight need to collect money for a group gift or transfer funds between friends. While we will always continue to provide this service for all users, there are also real costs associated with providing our service - particularly costs associated with processing credit card payments. Visa, MasterCard and American Express charge us for every transaction weprocess, and we need to pass this fee on to sellers to cover our costs. I can confirm that the payment you received was funded by a card. It is free to sign up for a PayPal account and there are no fees for personal payments to friends and family that are funded via your bank account or PayPal balance. You can also transfer funds from your bank account to your PayPal account and vice versa at no charge. I hope the above informaiton has been useful

Alright mate, I've had a very similar reply which is odd as my paypal is linked to my bank account rather than my credit card. Think it must be a new policy as I've never been charged before but going to watch out when sending cash now. Apologies for the charge too mate.
