Just been watchin Sky sports news and seen the Aston Villa fan protest to Alex Mcleish , im not involved in anyway am happy with the King at our club but wouldnt it make sense to list 5 managers on your shortlist to season ticket holders and they get to vote who they want? Would of saved Hodgeson at us even tho he was shite had no chance from the off because the support just didnt want him or maybe im an idealist ha

Will never happen, fans do not know what goes on in the background when hiring a manager..All meetings etc would need broadcast to all etc...Never in a million years will the fans ever have a choice even thouigh it's us that puts the money into the club....Thats football for you...!!!

Hodgson worked wonders at West Brom.
Maybe it ain't the manager, maybe Liverpool ain't the great team they think are any longer.
No offence but in practice this could never work. Consider the value of sponsors to the club, do you think that they should be able to then vote as a block for a manager? Say Hyundai sponsored the pool and then demanded a Korean boss to appeal to their customers/shareholders back home - bet the mickeys would love that! Similarly it'd set a precedent, where would it end players selecting the team? Fans are treated like mugs but at the end of the day they're customers not shareholders and are treated as such.
I can remember a lot of people at the time thinking RH was just the right appointment @ Anfield after the latter days of Rafa - experienced head, steadying influence and various other clichés all rolled out at the time.
Club was a bit of a shambles at the time with the ownership issues. Kenny came in, Torres walked and Gerrard missed more games than he played but somehow the team got their act together.
Fan protests did fuck all about Danny Wilson getting the job at ours. I'm quite glad to be honest. What do us fans know? Only the press or our mates tell us.

Since when has 'big time' football been about the fans?

Since when have fans known anything about what makes a good manager? As for hodgeson the whole liverpool "family" should be fucking ashamed of themselves with the way they treated him. From the fans to the players all of them were frankly cunts to the man. Hiding to nothing.
I'm not really sure of all this pressure, I'm never gonna lose any of my old letters, 'Cause they'll stay with me, Until I can see that I'm no one
Alot of my pals went to the protest last night. Apprently it was a shambles. Sky Claimed talks had broken down at the protest. Clearly Not. The way i see it just get on with it. Mcliesh might do a good job after all. Who Know's?
End of the day im Villa. So i'll go who ever the manager be.
at the Lane? fuck all...Unitedites, i just cant get my head round...hound out your most successful manager in years....and wont accept that your worse off without him..which you are..even Blunket on a galloping donkey could see that.....Blackwell would have kept you up too!

Not sure Sir Neil was hounded out mate. The problem with the idiot minority is that they are often the most heard.
