Zitat von Wardle71How was the night mate? will have tune in later.
Mental mate to be honest, the lad who hosted it wasn't using his noggin, couple of lads on before us played deep dub which wasn't doing well, we walked in and there was about 20 people in there all sat in the opp' end of the place, great we thought, turned out Trojan had only sold a few tickets, literally about 5 tickets out of 400 plus, which suprised us but with weather/Glastonbury etc we just writ it off, what we didn't realise was someone out of the place on the street was telling passers by there was a ska/reggae night on and people were paying a fiver in expecting madness, bad manners and The Ethiopians because none of them had saw the flyers explaining the night etc,so we had to keep curbing all the old skins off explaining why we were playing soul, funk and disco and I lost my rag with them in the end, then Red Bull radio's set up for such a recognised name what a load of shit, they kept messing with the amps, turning the volume up and down their end so I was turning the mixer volume up so I ended up having a barney with him over that then they were messing about with all the electrics when I was playing and the cdj I was using popped, so we swapped over to vinyl and then the 1200 turntable popped but just the fuse, it was a fucking mess and the lad who organised it all fucked off leaving us and Trojan to it, we left in the end with about 40 people in there and just got on it in Shoreditch, shame like but that's the first one that hasn't gone to plan, not our night nor our fault so just forgetting it now and concentrating on 3 weeks time for the Lovebox festival afterparty

Yes mate, a mixed bag of gear as I play basically 2 sides of me, vintage soul/funk/disco/edits etc and then 80s electro/disco/house/sleaze/boogie all mixes on here updated monthly
Is this what you would normally play? I'm loving it. i just assumed it would be dance music so never bothered checking any of it out until today as I really can't stand dance music.
I'm not really sure of all this pressure, I'm never gonna lose any of my old letters, 'Cause they'll stay with me, Until I can see that I'm no one

Yeah as I said mate I have a few sides to me as im a music lover so play various music, I wouldn't say I play dance music at all, I play various genres from soul original breaks funk vintage blues, sometimes I throw together a mix of edits and adult orientated rock disco, but the night we host called the boogie cartel is a night where 4 of us get together and just play records and tracks we love, I usually go on last and play out of disco & boogie and from 2am on I'll play house boogie 80s electro sleazy house and disco and that's our vibe all night really, so when I'm asked to play earlier or we swap our set times around then I tone it down a bit and just play records I love like the 2 Trojan mixes, the other lads are really good I'll put their stuff up too it's just good times like
Zitat von WhiteyOn a saturday at the Big Chill House in Kings cross they play a good selection of soul, funk, disco & mowtown. You may like it.
Were holding an all day/night event there in 3 weeks pal, The Boogie Cartel presents rooftop terrace 3pm-10pm and then we move inside from the top of the building and playing it out 10pm-3am, similar vibe on the terrace rooftop then moving it up a gear inside but still lots of boogie/disco thrown into the sleazy house/80s electro synth mix etc, pop by if your around

Lee Foss - Runaround pal, it was an underscore believe it or not on his "u got me" single, its on Hot Natured label.
There is massive scope for the midlands were just kind of crossing things as we go along but we have plans to take the Boogie Cartel to a club here, I've also got something in the pipeline at a bar in Cannock, I'll be putting a night on 100% every 2 weeks I'm just waiting on their refurbing to be finished as they are undergoing big changes with various things and together we have eyed a night to take that area by storm and I think it will really take off so just playing it by ear at the moment mate but as soon as I know I'll let you know
