As far as big American actors go I'd say Nicholson was probably my favourite. I much prefer the smaller British actors, though; Considine's a given, John Gordon Sinclair in Gregory's Girl (not to mention Claire Grogan - mega), the young lad out of this is England... Carlyle's great, Pete Postlethwaite another. Christopher Eccleston's good too I reckon.
John Malkovich Philip Seymour Hoffman Robert Downey Junior William H Macy I've always rated Johnny Depp especially in films like Ed Wood, The Ninth Gate and The Libertine. It's rare I don't enjoy a film starring John Cusack.
Quote by Hugo A-Go-GoYou prefer Carlyle and Eccleston to Jack Nicholson? Seriously?
I can't really say that I do or I don't, but on the whole I'm much more enamoured by British actors, often those inexperienced and "up and coming", than most of the big guns mentioned here previously.
