i went for a couple of pints yesterday in one of my locals, and a few blokes were smoking in there(near the door) and my eyes were watering whilst i was in there, and i fcuking stank when i came out(of smoke). this is the only law brought in by Labour, that i think was any good, a dirty fcuking habit.....

Tbh i think chucking the smoker's ouside for a puff is a brilliant idea. Nothing worse than getting up the morning after and there's that gut wrenching whiff of stale bacca on your best togs.
On a down side there can be a dozen of us the boozer on a saturday afternoon and if one stands up to go fo a drag another 9 will follow.

it has killed the craic in my local, but like you say, the stench of smoke when you come out is fucking horrible. some coats take ages to get the smell out, thank god for Fabreze
I smoke , and dont mind going outside for a cig , never smoked in my house so im used to going outside . When i was last in Barcelona , i was in a bar and going outside for a cig even tho you could smoke inside Thers a pub near me that has blatantly ignored the ban , when you walk in you coud see the "layers " of smoke in the place ! Any way last week got a large fine as someone repoted them .I dont think its stopped people going out for a pint tho , i blame cheaper beer at te supermarkets
And even as a smoker i hate that smell in the morning on your clothes

my local charges £3.10 for a pint of Fosters, £3.30 for San Miguel, in town you can get a pint for under £2.00, so generally young people dont get in the local. years ago your local was the cheaper option before you went into town, now it seems like the local is where a lot of people have their last pint before heading home, very sad, but most local pubs dont seem to want to drop their prices, they d rather be empty
dont miss smoking in the pub to be honest cos since the ban most half decent boozers have got heat lamps or covered beer gardens. I do miss smoking down the bookies though for some strage reason.
I'm an ex-smoker, I gave up in 98. I used to hate the smell of my clothes when I came home from the pub and used to spend a fortune on Fabrese. I prefer pubs now being smoke free although it was strange at first. The only thing I don't like is when it's summer and you want a tot outside in the beer garden smokers think they own it and if you don't like the smoke go inside.

Same with my local Mac , £3.30 for carling/carlsberg !! ( keeps the idiots /gypos out tho ) its busy up to 8 oclock then empties ,as all the young uns go off into Leeds , just leaving a pub thats a third full, of mainly 30yrs plus .

Socialist party (in power) did the same over here. Fully agree
Banning it is a good idea and I always go outside for a tab. Funny thing is I only smoke when I’m on the piss. It did annoy me when people would spark up in a restaurant before the ban.
i honestly think they ll ban it in public soon, some pubs in our town centre have smoking areas on the high st, so when you walk past you walk through a cloud of smoke, not nice when you re with your kids.
I smoke when I'm into the booze but normally don't - that means maybe one day a week I'll have a few smokes- for that reason, IMO banning smoking in pubs (which happened here about 5 yrs ago) was a great thing- as others said, that stench of tobacco that just permeates everything, right down to your undershorts is a bit much when you wake up with a head the size of a football
only really smoke when im drinking and I prefer going outside for a smoke.....i tend to smoke less when im out now. If im drinking in the house i chuff away like fuck
Must admit I was originally against it (non-smoker by the way) as I thought it was all a bit nanny-state. But definately for it now. Couldnt stand the smell of cigarette smoke on your clothes afterwards.
Plus side is I can nip in for a few sly scoops or an hour or two at the bookies and be clean as a whistle when her indoors asks
It doesn't bother me really. Quite a lot of the time, certainly in clubs, I like venturing to the smoking area to just chill out for 5. Would love to be able to smoke again in the local though.
