Just waiting for my room to be ready at 2pm drop off my bag get changed and then out.Thought i would waste some time on the free internet here on the forum.
Personally I d avoid the Ramblas, head down to Barcelonetta, some decent restaurants near the sea, and the Barri Gothic has some decent lively bars, cheaper than the tourist ones

theres nowt beautiful about the ramblas steve,(maybe during the day) fuckin blacks trying to rifle your pockets. if you can avoid them then yes its ok. marina and down towards the beach was nice. found some canny bars down the back streets as well.
Quote by STEVECFCwe took kids there , never had any issues , loads of street entertainers along there was good larf ..
from what i saw ramblas was very different from day and night during the day fairly relaxed and crime minimal but at night particulary early hours of morning very seedy and rife with pick pockets. They aren't subtle though its almost comical they make no attempt to try and hide what they are doing.
we were in a big group and were fine but it is a tourist trap and we didn't do any homework on where the locals drank.
we did make it down to port olympic though early evening which was great.
never found designer clothes shops but did stumble across 1 very good watch shop on a corner just off a main square at top of ramblas.
Iirc, the Avenida Diagonal(I think thats what its called) was the place for designer shops, also some on Passage de Gracia, although I didnt go in any, as I rarely go clothes shopping when i m on holiday. I d also advise using the Underground, easy to use, never busy, and when you ve walked down the Ramblas once its nice to avoid the crowds. I went to the zoo when I was last there as well, when the Albino Gorilla was still alive, a decent place to spend a couple of hours, and they have vending machines selling beer The Sagrada Familla is worth a look as well, if thats your kind of thing..
I missed it but the food market on ramblas is supposed to be well worth seeing. biggest food hall in europe ? plernty of tapas and beer as well so a nice place to spend a couple of hours.
Just picked up my ticket for the game tonight went to the stadium yesterday all i can say is wow! Also went to the Ramblas very nice no problems at all.

Just got back from Sagrada Familla very nice area.
Its a fucking massive place, went there in 08 for an England match against Andorra, saw some English lads spark some poor Black Pro clean out down a side street, would like to go back there at some point with a sober head on.

Went with her indoors the other year, loved it. Ramblas seemed fine during the day, don't think we were there at night. Would definately have another look down on the beach area, had a meal down there (Aqua?) really nice atmosphere, great food.
Get up to Parc Guell for a look at some more of the Gaudi architecture loved all that stuff. Some good bars etc on the walk back from there into town
