Much better off with the wash-in stuff, difficult to apply the aerosol version evenly. If it has been washed with detergent before, it may need a cycle with some pure soap flakes or just a good rinse before using the waterproofing product

cheers ryan ,, will check the machine wash one
couldnt be arsed rubbing the wax in and the aerosol was the easier option ;but the wash in ones the winner
Thanks to Mogs for the question and Ryan for the answer ! I've been trying to decide which waxing product to use and the Nikwax wash in one looks favourite

keep me informed mogs, how it goes, got UW millerain needs a rewax or what ever it is you put on it
Which coat is it mate? I know some of them use 'Dryden' waxing which isn't retreatable, might be worth sending them an email before going further
fell parka, the millerain one. been back to UW and millerain tested it, fucking washed there hands of it, blamed me, saying it must of been hot ironed, its never been ironed. they sent it back and that was it. was thinking of using a couple a pre-dyes and seeing what happens there. basically its fucked so trying something isnt going to harm it.

Fuck that does'nt sound good, surely companies can stand to stuff like this instead of shifting the blame, Its not like its common practice for the inconvenience of sending jackets back. Sure Mac has done a few rewaxes...
nice to see you back Ja. i shit service mate, went on for 7month as well, partly because peggs never sent it on to UW, then when it did arrive, the bloke from UW was always away buying and whatever, eventually millerain tested it and basically said it must of been hot ironed for the jacket to look the way it did, so there was nothing they could do but send it back. you,d think as a newish brand they,d bend over backwards for any customers with fault problems etc. its last time i buy any of there stuff after this
