Maybe give them a phone, I've found that it's only a click of a mouse away from getting rid.
I had jury duty and phoned up and said i had a record and she just said that's fine you won't receive any more letters from us again. She didn't even check what the charge was.
thing is , I applied for Criminal Record Check for work visa abroad , 3 years ago I did this and nothing was on there , yet now it is .. I don't think it will affect my visa application , I'm just pissed off , and don't understand why it should be on there after all this time ..
I,m not sure if you can get them removed my mate got done for ABH when he was 15 and he applied for a job at an old peoples home, they did one of those disclosure things and it was still on there and he,s 45

Don't think they matter after 5 years when it comes to getting Visas. Two of the hardest countries to get into with a violent conviction are the USA and Australia. Their policy seems to be that they'll accept applications so long that you have a clean sheet of at least 5 years - so I've learnt. Not sure how much use that info is to you mind.
Can be risky this one as if they pull you in and you havent disclosed it whether or not spent they wont be happy, Yes convictions are spent after so many years but Assault isnt looked at lightly. To my knowledge a charge will never be removed from your record, Best to be honest and during interview express how you have seen the error of your ways and a professional now or words to that effect.

Best and good advice. Spoken to a lot of HR/employers about this and the thing they hate most of all is not being told upfront about it. If they find out after you've got the job, and they probably will, you will almost certainly get the sack.
Quote by kuriousoranjIf it's an enhanced CRB you're doing it'll never leave. I've got one that I've had since I was 16 that I'll carry with me for the rest of my life.
pretty sure this is right......my bruv recently had to get an enhanced disclosure check and he had an old vandalism charge from 1990 on it and a driving charge from 2000....he was applying for a job which he all but had until the check was done...he denied having any convictions at the interview but the check proved otherwise....i dont think convictions ever leave you when it comes to these type of checks.

Suppose I am quite lucky in the fact that my jaded past and wrong doing is an asset to my job, It was about being honest with my employers that impressed them the most..
I believe honesty to be best policy - sometimes - hardly gonna look impressive to reveal one time football hooligan with porridge and convictions , albeit 17 years ago the last one ...
