I'd do the opposite if I was the money men behind city, envoke that apparent contract extension clause and sit him in the reserves for 3 years. Not like they cant afford it.

Got to be,whats up with him,how hard is it to come on and run around a pitch doing something you love and getting paid crazy amounts of money for it,they are in a different world,some of these fools,should fine him all his wages and make him play with the youth team.
If any player refused to come on for my club, he would never be forgiven, ever. And if he did for some crazy reason pull the shirt back on and play in another match, he would not be considered my player playing for my team.
