The resorts in those countries are normally fine mate, especially those All-inclusive things can be great if you love eating what you want whenever you want

its never appealed to me Sean....but winter sun is nowt to be sniffed at....ive heard good and bad reports...good from my 2 mates who scuba dive....my normal mates who've said its shocking for a booze ......so its a non starter for me
If your gonna go AI i'd say go 5star ? ive heard brilliant stories about those, get to eat at an a la carte resturant a few times a week with a booking system in place, massive complex's, want to go to one at some point, sound too good to keep away from them for too long imo.
We were all set to go in October just gone, but something on the news put my missus off, Have been told if all inclusive then splash out it really makes a difference and somewhere with its own beach. A pal came back earlier this year and said it was Ok but he went 3 star all inclusive and not much on offer so he just got slaughtered on Ouzo
Staying in a hotel does absolutely nothing for me. I'd rather mix it up in Cairo at the minute. Know a few who've been though from work, and as mentioned above, they've had things to say about the food.
Sean for a week away in the winter to relax it's sound mate. Last ime I went it was 35 by the pool every day in November. Didn't think much to naama bay locals very rude. But hard rock is cheap for a meal out. Good chance of getting the old deli belly due to the water and even their money because it's been in Circulation so long. Avoid any salad because it's probably been washed in their water and dont bother changing money all they want is sterling. I took a bag of pound coins and gave the barman one every now and then and I didn't leave my sunbed for a drink all week! Most hotels have a private beach away from the hotel where you can use your all inclusive as well. Oh and the driving is the worst I've experienced anywhere in the world!!!
