I'm not really up on the actual situation of Plymouth apart from the fact they're rapidly plummeting out of the football league. Are they financially fucked as well?

i think, they have a new buyer, or have been bought. basically relying on loanee players
We went into administration early this year. Full story still hasn't come out, we weren't exactly 'living the dream', but the board had gambled on the England World Cup bid; we were to be a host city. We're now finally out of admin and have a new owner, but no money to spend and a team full of kids and cast-offs. 5 points adrift of safety at the bottom of League 2 we seem odds on for a third successive relegation. To be honest tonight's result, whilst embarrassing,is not entirely unexpected, and frankly the least of our problems. We'll be back, but it may require a trip to the Conference first.
Probably not too good for you as you'd obviously like to stay in the football league, but In reality the conference is just an extension of the third division / league 2 and in many cases is probably a better standard of football that a lot of the teams in that division. Looking at it, the conference looks like the old 4th or 3rd division with lots of traditional football league teams now facing each other again.
