The skyline of London is beginning to look fantastic. I came across this picture which looks stunning and it doesn't even include the Shard. The Pinnacle and the Leadenhall building will fill out the city of London cluster even more.
I can't stand the shard to be honest - looks totally out of place compared to the rest of the city IMO. The gherkin is okay but buildings like the shard should be left to the Gulf states IMO. Funny thing in the picture posted above is the presence of the Barbican - amazing to think it was a real landmark structure at the time!

I have to agree, it looks like a massive shiny dildo that's just been removed from Boris Johnson's anal cavity.
I personally think the Shard is stunning and sets London apart. You won't like the Pinnacle or the Walkie Talkie designs then
I also like the fact that London has seperate clusters, makes it more interesting than having all your scrapers in one place like La defense for example.
Its horses for courses really i guess....i like `lower` cities...Paris,,,Rome......even London really which has very few of these sky high buildings blotting the landscape.
I was lucky enough to commission the standby generators in "Heron Tower" (top pic, tallest landmark) that were sited on the 42nd floor back in Jan this year, got another set of our gens' in The Shard too. The view from up there was ace, was up there in the back end of 2010 too when it was a proper construction site, cage lift on the outside - fookin wicked. Personally loving the new skyline, adds a bit of a mix to the place...

I managed to persuade my bird that the tower was named after Gil Scott-Heron....
When they were digging the foundations and starting the shard off it was ace. There'd be loads of people -blokes- stood on the bridge over to guys just stood there gawping. It was ace
