... Wanting to pick up a digital one for Christmas, any brands I should be looking out for in particular to buy? Got a budget of £150, doesn't need to be amazing but good enough quality to take some decent pictures. Would be used for general photography and no special purpose. Anyone reccomend me anything that they own? If you could show me pictures you've managed to get from the camera then that'd be even better. Nice one lads

Ive got a Nikon Coolpix 6100 from Tesco half price from 198.00 to £98 !!! for a point and click its fantastic , it has a touch screen , Loads of really good but easy to use functions oh yeah and it's 16 megapixel with a great zoom feature , trust me its well well worth the cash. Ads.

With that budget I prefered a second hand Nikon D80 SLR Camera, and just after went for the D90. A good way to start photography, then step by step buying new lenses... That's a smart hobby!
I bought a Canon Powershot 16 MP A3300 IS off Amazon Black Friday. RRP was £150 ish, down to £105 and I got it for £65. Absolute bargain. Just waiting on a memory card to be delivered, first look though, looks fantastic for the price..
