If you go in a Panasonic or Sony shop they'll tell you what distance you need to be from each size tv. Then buy the next size up as that's what blokes do :)

I'd keep looking on HotUKDeals every day, plenty get posted on there and the 3D ones are now starting to appear with big discounts, certainly below £700. Don't rush into it.

Bought a Panasonic 3D TV earlier on this year. You need to buy special specs about £80 a set. Tried using the free specs you get at pictures - fookers dont work. Waste of money so far - hardly any decent films in 3D apart from nature films and kids films Think you need Sky HD for the footie in 3D.
Well, I tell them there's no problem Only solutions

The ones I've seen on HotUKDeals have had a couple of pairs of glasses with them I think.
Panasonic have an offer on the GT range at the minute where you get 2 pairs of the Glasses, Blu Ray DVD Player and iirc Avatar & Star Wars set on Blu Ray free ( worth £300 + ) but I think even the 42" is around £1150. Reviews Ive read on that range are excellent, think the 42" got What HiFi's product of the year. Samsung & LG make a good TV, depends what you want them to do other than just for the TV, ie this Smart TV, Internet connection etc. Bloody minefield, been looking at them for 2 months and still cant decide although Im probably going for the Panasonic deal but unsure what size.
Always had Samsung ,32 in the bedroom and 42 in the living room , just got offered a 50 inch Panasonic for 500 quid and although I think it will be to big its coming tommorow ,bigger the better tbh ,its a bloke thing -) Had some good reviews as well ,thing is you soon get used to them anyway ,

I am totally stumped as to which one to pick , as you say loads to choose from , too many options thats why I cant decide ! Just want something solid and well made , not too arsed with 3D, thanks for the advice so far chaps.

Don't ever pick a TV from how the picture looks in the shop. Shop staff will purposefully adjust TVs settings to make certain models look better than others and even if that isn't the case the lighting in a shop is nothing like our living rooms. Best bet is to go over onto AV Forums and have a read of their TV sections.
