1 . Had they been , then a decent team would have been fielded . 2 . By Fergies reaction . 3 . Now concentrate on League / CL . 4 . Since when of late has any of the top 4 been bothered with this Cup ?
out of that 9 , how many play on a regular basis in the first team ? Title is far from City's , or have I missed something , they already won the League ? Utd will finish top 4 , bet my house on that , so they will qualify for the CL anyway ..

Fergie took Palace too lightly last night, a season with out silverware at OT

Liverpool are taking the CC very seriously actually.
we're prioritisng the Europa League for next year hence the weakened teams in the PL, CL And League Cup....
"The nightmares invading the sleep of Bayern fans involve four horsemen of the Champions League Apocalypse riding towards them. As the faces come into focus, they will recognise Frank Lampard, Cole, Petr Cech and Drogba. All were immense..."

The biggest worry for Fergie and the fans I'd imagine is that the depth of the squad is not what it was in the past, quality of those coming through is, again, not up to high standards of the past. Very hard to imagine, say, Diouf or Gibson for that matter ever becoming first team regulars at United. From those who played last night, you couldn't exactly say the answer to United's midfield problems were on show.

A lot of United fans had been clamouring for some time to see Pogba and Morrison introduced into the 1st team squad claiming they were ready for the next step. Judging by last night those claims were a bit premature. Don't get me wrong they are both talented, especially Morrison who if is able to sort out his "gangsta" lifestyle could be a genuine star, but the jump from youth and reserve games is a huge one and many prospects fail to make it. The Twinjuries didn't help last night but they seem incapable of playing for a full game anyway and that is a worrying trend. I don't believe we will ever see Diouf in a United shirt again, he is simply not good enough. There is a lack of depth in quality and Fergie will know that, so don't write United off just yet
I hope you're right Vasque, Going by the performances out there last night the future doesn't look too bright. Evans is an accident waiting to happen, Gibson just isn't good enough, Macheda looks worse every time I see him, Diouf is laughable and the twins are made of glass. Unfair to judge Pogba or Morrison as I haven't seen much of either.
Everybody can see that the major more immediate problem is a midfield general, I know Fergie has said he won't sign in January but it's really going to be a struggle for United if nobody is signed. It's painful to watch us being overrun in midfield time and time again

What is this gangster lifestyle story?
He knocks about with some very unsavoury characters and the main reason United have stuck by him is because of his obvious talent.
i dont think its 'magic of the cup' in my eyes!its just the bi teams ie arsenal, utd, chelsea, city[who dont have reserves just a 2nd 11 of internationals!] ,Liverpool fieldig rerves with 2/3 1st team regulars playing. if thats enough to win the cc the gret if n9t its no bigie. I fcouldt tell yu who won it last year straight away never mind the last 3 winners of the daft cup! Why would a manager risk star players on a cup, the fans dont want to go and watch. look at the attedances. from what i saw on tv, Old trafford was half empty, as was every other game! even city v arsenal and chelsea v liverpool were 5k under attendances whe they ,on paper, were 'nid teams' playing.
in saying that its the only trphy tem like iverpool can win so they will takeit seriously, utd couodnt vare, should be scrapped
what sickened me was the blackburn manager saying he sacrificed the cardiff tie for the next league game. i hope he told the 4 k blackburn fans, this before the game and then travelling a fair distance! not to mention the 60/70 quid it would have cost etc...to attend the game!shoulf ose his jobor this alone! not to menton they are bttom. ripping off fans and making them travel with the whole hassle of getting there, work etc... is a sick joke byhim. he shoulfd aologise and make sure those who attended,a game he instructed his team, not to focus all the energies into!
to me , winning builds confidence , whatever competition , as a Chelsea fan I lost no sleep being out of the Cup , but am more concerned we lost again , lost at home , laclustre performance .. I would be fuming if I were a Blackburn fan , they have no confidence in Keen anyhow - less now I imagine ..
